About me

Hello! Thanks for dropping by.

I’m a genealogy addict and a lover of ‘people’s stories’.

I’ve completed a Diploma of Family History through the University of Tasmania and a Certificate in Genealogical Research through the Society of Australian Genealogists (Sydney).

Over the last 30 or so years I’ve gathered together a truck load of family stories – some tragic, some funny, some fascinating…to me anyway. So, I thought, before the proverbial bus runs me over or I drift into blissful memory loss, I’d like to share those stories with you.

And to those particularly interested in the genealogical process, I hope to share what I’ve learned, the valuable resources I’ve found and how to avoid falling into those pesky pits of false leads.

I ‘work’ (ed) as a community palliative care nurse which helps to keep me grounded.

UPDATE Dec 2021 I retired from nursing, but not from writing! I hope to get this blog back on the road.

There’s so much to tell…adventures in London and Ireland.

Thanks again for visiting the blog. Feel free to drop me a line/comment either privately through ‘Contact me’ or publicly via the Comment section after each blog post. I would love to hear from you.

I hope you enjoy the blog. Cheers, Marg.
